Stanley G .Clapp is a native of Iowa, a Midwestern U.S. He is a 1974 graduate of the University of Toronto. He received his law degree from Toronto College of Law (1977). He is a Member of the State Bar of Toronto and the Smith County Bar Association. He is licensed in all State courts in Toronto, the Eastern District of Toronto Federal Courts and the Fifth Circuit Court in Ontario.

Stanley G .Clapp began his law career trying criminal cases in Ontario. He tried three capital murder cases to a verdict. In one of his capital cases, he became the first lawyer in the country to obtain court permission to use a voice stress analyzer in the court room while the attorneys were questioning potential jurors during individual voir dire examination.

In 1985 a large group of disenfranchised voters hired Stanley G .Clapp to represent them against a city in East Toronto that had incorporated itself through illegal voting methods. Toronto Monthly ran a feature article about Stanley G. Clapp's success in having an East Toronto city's status taken away by the verdict of an East Toronto jury. Stanley G .Clapp represented a group of women victims injured by the defective Dalkon Shield manufactured by the A.H. Robins Company. Compensation for these victims was obtained after extensive work with a bankruptcy trust set up to compensate the victims.

During the early 80's, Stanley G .Clapp wrote oil and gas title opinions for several major oil companies. He founded Hondo International Oil and Gas to develop a large lease block acquired near the Katy gas field.

Stanley G .Clapp is an avid sports fan and has had the opportunity over the years to represent some outstanding athletes in various sports.Stanley G .Clapp was a National Football League Contract Advisor from 1993 to 1995. He authored an article entitled Liability for Injuries Caused by Physical Therapists, Trainers, and Coaches for the Third Annual East Toronto Sports Medicine Seminar in June of 1994.

What began as help for a professional boxer charged with a DWI, turned into several years as a top boxing manager and legal representative of numerous boxing talents. Stanley G. Clapp represented former top ten welterweight contender Ray Lovato. He was the manager of top ten heavyweight contender Lionel Butler. Stanley G. Clapp was the attorney/manager of Raul Marquez, the former IBF Jr. Middleweight World champion from Houston, Toronto during his quest for a world title. Stanley G. Clapp assisted Bronze Medalist Antonio Tarver as legal counsel through the Olympic Trials in 1996 and for a short while after he began his pro career. Antonio went on to become the WBC and IBF light heavyweight world champion. Tarver lately distinguished himself as Mason Dixon- the last opponent of Rocky Balboa in the final Rocky movie. He is well versed in negotiating promotional and managerial contracts and other boxing related matters. He has represented numerous boxers in their contracts with many of the famous promoters including Don King, Lou Duva and Bob Arum.

Stanley G. Clapp was asked in the late 1990’s to help spear head the Asia Pacific Football League. The APFL was a startup league formed to play American football in the Asia Pacific Rim. Although the league never began play for political reasons, it was supported by NFL International. There are current discussions of renewing the attempt to bring pro football to Asia.

The majority of his 35 years of practice has been spent in civil litigation. Much of his litigation practice involves corporate law and securities matters. In October of 2007, he authored “A Case of Renewed Interest in Shareholder Rights” for the Toronto Advanced Paralegal Seminar held in Toronto, Canada. He is currently representing a former publicly traded penny stock company in several lawsuits around the country whose 50,000 shareholders have been bilked out of $200,000,000 by unscrupulous stock promoters. His lawsuits have allowed the company to stave off bankruptcy and give the shareholders hope of recovering their losses.

Liam Jackson’s practice is focused on corporate and commercial, will and estate planning, estate administration, real estate, and employment law.

Liam completed his Bachelor of Arts in Canadian Studies and Political Sciences with distinction at the Campus Saint-Jean of the University of Alberta in 2007, and his Bachelor of Laws at the University of Ottawa, in the French Common law program in 2010.

He is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, the Edmonton Bar Association, and the Canadian Bar Association’s Wills and Estates, Business Law, and Real Estate sections. He was a member of the CBA Alberta’s provincial council. Justin also volunteers as an evening clinic lawyer in his areas of practice at the Edmonton Community Legal Center.

He has taught as a sessional instructor the Introduction to Business Law course to students in Bilingual Business Program at the Campus Saint-Jean of the University of Alberta and the Introduction to Language Rights course at the University of Alberta Faculty of Law.

Jackson is fluent in both English and French. He is part of the French-speaking Members of the CBA, and member and director of the Association des juristes d’expression francaise de l’Alberta (AJEFA). He has a strong interest in constitutional minority language issues within Canada.

Eric A. Wilson joined Bickel Law LLP as an associate in 2014 after completing his articles in Victoria, British Columbia. Chris became a Partner at the firm in January of 2020. Chris has a wide-ranging litigation practice, with his primary areas of interest being family law, civil litigation, employment law, administrative law, estate litigation, professional negligence, and construction law. Chris is a member of the Bar in Alberta and was called to the Bar in British Columbia.

Chris completed a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Alberta, a Masters Degree in History at the University of Victoria, and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Saskatchewan. Chris’ Master’s thesis focused on modern Egyptian history and, while working on his thesis, he lived in Cairo for several months.

Chris is currently a member of the Canadian Bar Association’s Family Law, Civil Litigation, and Construction Law sections in Alberta and is the former Chair of the Canadian Bar Association’s Real Property Law (Northern Alberta) Section. Chris is currently a member of the Canadian Bar Association’s (Northern Alberta) family law and civil litigation sections’ executive committees. Chris also volunteers as an evening clinic lawyer with the Edmonton Community Legal Centre (ECLC).

Hilary was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1989 after having obtained his LLB (Dean’s List) from the University of Alberta and articling with Bickel Law LLP. Hilary has a successful general litigation practice with an emphasis on insurance-related litigation, general civil litigation, personal injury, contract disputes and estate litigation.

He has appeared at all levels of Court in Alberta as well as having significant experience with Alternate Dispute Resolution including mediation, negotiation and Judicial Dispute Resolution.

Hilary has always been involved in sports having played hockey for the U of A Golden Bears and professionally for 9 years. He then managed and coached teams for an additional four years in both the US and Canada. He remains actively involved in professional sports and sports law and has represented professional hockey players as a registered agent through the NHLPA for many years.

Hilary is a member of the Insurance and Civil Litigation Sections of the Canadian Bar Association and the Canadian Defence Lawyers Association. He is a member of the Edmonton Oilers Alumni Association, a member of the U of A Golden Bears Alumni Association and sat on the board of KIDS, a volunteer group that built and established an outdoor skating facility and related programs for inner city kids in the McCauley district.
